Carving Pumpkins and the Cutest Frankenstien EVER!!!

Last Monday we went over to the Tates to carve our pumpkins. So while Camdyn and Brit ran around screaming and chasing the dogs, we carved pumpkins. This year, unlike last year, all the pumpkins survived. Kari's had a trajic ending last year and ended up just a big hole! But this year we all ended up being succesful. Justin (who just loves taking pictures) took on the task of carving the HUGE pumpkin. It took a lot of muscles, but he finally got it cleaned and carved.

Justin's is the cyclopse, mine is the pirate skull, Jaron's is Iron man, and Kari's is a witch!

They turned out great and look even better out on the front porch.

Briton has been enjoying throwing his pumpkin. He see's it, yells "ball, ball" and runs and picks it up. Today it finally cracked, but considering he's been throwing it for 2 weeks now says a lot about the strength of those pumpkins:)

This is my favorite picture. You gotta love the butt crack!

And last but not least, the cutest Frankenstine ever! I dressed him up for my preschool party today and he was a hit! I'll put a little more makeup on him tomorrow, but I couldn't resist putting him in his costume a day early!

These pictures aren't great because I just hurried and snapped them before Preschool. So there will be more to come.

Baby update

We went to the doctor today for a check up and everything looks good. Well I guess sounds good cause we just listened to the heartbeat. We do have an ultrasound on Monday so we can't wait to find out what baby Phillips is. I've never done a voting thing so I figured I try it will this. Vote on what you think it is and come Monday we'll see who's right!

On Thursday Briton had to have a little surgery. He had to have his circumcision fixed because it didn't quite heal right. OUCH!! They had to put him all the way out and boy was that tramatic for mom and dad. I had nightmares for weeks and all I could think about was all the bad things that could happen. I hardly slept the night before and those 45 minutes he was gone seemed like days. But he did so good and handled it like a champ. He was a little sore, as you can imagine, but he is doing great. He slept a lot the first day, but when he was awake he was running around and climbing on things like nothing happened. The last few days he has been so good, but you can tell he hurts a little. We're so proud of our little guy and are just so glad it's over with. Hopefully the healing process continues to go good so we don't have to deal with it again! For his sake and ours! I had good intentions to take pictures at the surgical center, but I didn't want to let go of him long enough to get the camara out of my purse, so oh well. He won't remember it anyways and we're not sure if we want him too:) So I got a cute picture of Justin and Brit cuddling watching tv after the surgery and one of the ice pack we tried. It didn't work! We finally went old fashion and used a ziploc and a couple peices of ice. Much better:)

Can you say UPGRADE!!!!

This is what we used to have....
Wide open access for Briton to push any buttons, pull any DVDs off the shelves, and plenty of "NO Britons!" We even had to push the ottoman up against it to stop him from cranking up the volume whenever he pleased. Can you say Tacky?!?

This is what we have now....

Can you say BEAUTIFUL?!?

No more pushing buttons, DVD's all over the floor, and Yes, no more "NO'S!!!" (at least when it comes to this area) We will a few more fingerprints, but believe me it is worth it:)

Shop'n for Pumpkins

So over UEA I was able to head up to Richfield for a quick trip. I was only up there for a day (which went way too fast) but while I was there, we got some pumpkins. There aren't pumpkins like this down south, so I was so excited to see these. I was like a little kid in a candy shop. Briton had lots of fun too! He liked to try and pick up the big ones and the ones that he could pick up he would throw. It's a good thing they're strong little pumpkins:) We left with some great pumpkins and I can't even tell you how many people have asked me where I got my pumpkins. I've even had people who I don't even know stop by or call me and ask. It's so funny!!

FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL

We've been lucky to go see a few college football games lately. Justin and his dad went up to Provo to see the BYU vs New Mexico game a couple weekends ago. And then last weekend we went to the UNLV vs Air Force game in Vegas. We had a lot of fun! We just love it and wish we could go more often.

I'm 14 months

I've seen my mom do this hundreds of times, so I'm sure I can figure this blogging thing out! I'm 14 months old today and just wanted to tell you all of the things I love to do each and every day. Unfortunately there won't be any pictures of me, just words!
* I love getting into everything. Of course this is something I've been doing for a while, but I have now perfected this talent and know each drawer and cupboard I can get things out of. I can also reach on top of the counters and if there is anything near the edge, it's mine! My favorite thing to get is the toilet paper in the bathrooms, but I also love to get the strainers out of the one kitchen cupboard there is no baby lock. Oh and I also love to go through my moms makeup drawer and spread all the things through out the house so she can't find them when she needs them. P.S. I know how much it drives my mom crazy, so I keep doing it all day long! hehe!!
*I love being outside and every chance I get I'm out there. I always go straight to the rocks and throw them as hard as I can. I also like touching the car and the tires and getting my hands really dirty. When I'm outside I like to play with my dogs too!
*Like always I love balls. Footballs, Soccer balls, Basketballs, and Baseballs. I don't like my little nerf balls anymore, I only want to play with the big kid balls. A lady told me the other day that she's never seen a boy my age throw a football that far; And that I'm gonna be a good quartedback someday!
*I am very curious my mom says and I am always pointing to things. I try to tell my mom what I want but she just doesn't get me! No matter how many times I tell her, she still just looks at me and smiles. I like to just walk around and talk, someday they'll understand what i'm saying. And whenever I can find a phone, I put it straight to my ear to talk, just like mom and dad.
*I LOVE CARS! Whenever I have a car I go "vroom vroom" and drive them all over. I can also pick Cars out of the dvd collection and like to watch the cars drive around the track!
*I'm now running everywhere and almost always have a bump, scratch, or bruise on my head. I'm getting tougher and don't cry as much when I fall.
* I now have 12 teeth. All four of my 1 yr. molars are in and I can chew my food in the back now. I eat everything! But I mostly like: mac n cheese, cheese slice, toast w/jam, eggs, sausage, crackers, pizza, pickles, cottage cheese, quesadilla, sandwiches (pb & j and ham & cheese), chicken, roman noodles, spagetti, fett. alfredo, and my favorite pasta is the one momma always brings home from work! I like to eat it in my chair, but its way better when I pick it up from the floor before moms swept it up. She tells me its gross, but I like it!
*One of my favorite things to do is read and I almost always have a book in my hand. I'll sit down and turn the pages and read out loud. My favorite book is the minnie mouse book, but I like the hungry caterpillar too, oh and the one with the dogs!
* I like playing with other kids too. I try to be nice and share, but sometimes I'm not very nice. My toys just aren't cool until someone else has it in thier hands, so I take it! There mine right? There's a really cute girl at all the soccer games that I play with and we like to run up and down the ramps. Both our moms chase us up and down and we think it is really funny!
* If you are sitting down on the ground, I will probably come sit in your lap (especially if I have a book). I'll sit on anyones lap, even moms preschool kids. They tell me its cute, but I think it's just more comfortable!
So there you have it. A few things about me at 14 months. Maybe mom will put some pictures on here when she figures the new camara out.

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff!

I absolutely loved Pres. Monsons talk yesterday during conference. I'm sure like all you other moms you felt like he was talking just to you. I loved it when he talked about the finger prints being everywhere, the toys spread out across the room, and the piles of laundry on the floor and how we need to not stress those things but appreciate what made them. Lately there have been so many days where I just stare at the piles of laundry, the piles of dishes, and the toys all over the living room and think, "I am such a bad wife and mom. My house should be spotless, after all I'm a stay at home mom right?" But just as I get rid of one, and start on the other, another one appears. It's a never ending battle! And plus, playing with Brit is way funner:) And I hardly have time for that. So after the talk, I began to realize that I'm not going to have much more time to just sit and read a book with him, or sing songs, or just play with his cars. And when he's 18 I know I won't look back and think, "Man I wish I would have kept the house cleaner!" I'll be thinking about HOW MUCH I MISS MY LITTLE BABY!!! Now unfortunately this doesn't mean I can stop doing these things, but I know I don't need to stress so much about them and just take them in stride!

So cute

So for the last few weeks I've been having problems in the morning blacking out in the shower. It's kinda my own fault I'm sure, but anyways. I get home from my morning walk and have about 40 minutes to get me and Brit ready for the day before school starts. We eat breakfast, and then I try to hop in the shower real quick. But like I said earlier, i've been blacking out a lot. I usually can feel it coming on and I hurry and sit down and it maked me feel better, but the other day, it caught me off gaurd. The last thing I remember is Briton playing in the closet by the shower. The next thing I know, Briton is in the shower, fully dressed and drenched! He's sitting next to me, rubbing my hair. Which is another strange thing because he's usually smacking me in the face. It was really so cute and even though he's only 14 months, it was kinda a comfort to know he was there. I don't know how long I was out, but when I finally got out of the shower I had been in there for over 20 minutes and school started in like 10 minutes. So I got us both dressed and that was about it before school started. Hopefully this will pass soon. And does anyone have any suggestions for me to make it stop. I try and eat a granola bar or fruit bar before I go walking and I eat right when I get back so I really just don't know.

Date Night (with my baby)

When Justin goes out of town for soccer I've been able to spend some fun evenings with Brit. It always seems to contain some grocery shopping and dinner, but this time I decided to take him to Petco!(after grocery shopping of course) He loved it! We walked in and he started clapping. He thought the giant colorful hamster cage was the coolest thing ever. He just starred at it for a while and then realized that there were animals everywhere. His favorite was the mice. There were a ton running everywhere, some were running on the wheel and he was mesmerized by that. The rabbits didn't move much, but some of the ferrets were pretty active and he liked them too. He wasn't too interested in the birds at first, but when we walked back the second time to see the birds he went from cage to cage just laughing. He liked to pound on each container and he might have scared all the animals to death, but he sure enjoyed himself! He didn't really want to go, but hopefully we'll be back soon.
