Michaelsen Calender Cover

My little brother JD wanted a picture holding his wakeboard taken while we were at Lake Powell. Well.... my other brother Devin hopped in and then... my dad did. This is what it resulted in!

HAHAHA!!!

LAKE POWELL 2009

We had a great time at Powell this year. Hadley, Brit and I really missed Daddy (he had alrady started teaching), but tried to have fun anyways. We went with my family and some neighborhood friends. They have a little boy that is almost 4 and he and Brit had a great time together. They had matching life jackets and they thought that was pretty cool. I was so glad Hunter was there because when he wore his lifejacket Brit was a little better at putting his on.Unfortunately Brit got another ear infection on the trip and for a few days just slept, cuddled with me, and was pretty much connected to my side at all times (which would have been great except I wanted to go play). But by the last day he was back to normal, playing in the water and the sand and he actually had a smile on his face the whole day! It was nice! We also went on some tube rides and he seemed to really like it. He kept waving at everyone on the boat and attempting to give the thumbs up.
Hadley was an angel as usual and was just her happy little self. She didnt like the life jacket, but as soon as we would get going she would relax and fall asleep. She also like splashing in the water feeling the warm sand on her toes. What a sweetie!
On Sunday we went on a relaxing boat ride. We saw some ruins, drove through beautiful canyons, and had a few good swims.

In one canyon it looked like there could be a fun hike but I wasnt going to attempt it with the kids. So the three of us stayed on the boat and hung out together. Brit and Hads layed on the floor of the boat and had a great time together.

As always I cant wait to go back! Oh and I went wakeboarding! It was so fun and I missed it so much. Because of pregancies I hadnt been for 3 years!!

Thanks again Mom and Dad

A swingin good time!

Hadley had her 1st swinging experience the other day and she loved it. She would giggle everytime Brit would get near her and I think she just enjoyed the wind in her face! She also got to go down the slide with Daddy and brother not too far behind.

Another shot of some good swingin is Brit with his new baseball and bat. He got the Better Batter Baseball for his birthday and he LOVES it. He also like to have us just throw him the ball and hit it and he actually hits it sometimes. Yesterday when he was doing it, he stopped and said "I want hat" which is strange cause he never wears hats. But all we can figure is he some baseball player with a hat and now the 2 go together! So we ran inside, got him his hat, and he was back outside ready to hit the ball. What a stinkin Cutie! Oh and he swings both right and lefthanded. For the most part it left though so we'll see. If you look close you'll see he's wearing soccer shoes, a football jersey, and basketball hat, and playing baseball. What a well rounded 2 year old:)

Down By the River

We live really close to the river and before we had kids we would take the dogs down all the time. So after talking about doing this for months and months we finally did it! We packed up our things and headed down to the river. The weather was perfect, the water was just right and we had a great time. It always takes Brit a while to get used to the water, but soon he was on his belly kicking and having a great time! Hadley was just content walking around with daddy, sittin on laps, or lounging in the camp chair! She is so fun and easy to please, and look at that smile! You can't help but smile when you see that cute face!

We are definately going to do this more often!

Go Panthers!

PINE VIEWS BIGGEST FANS!!!!

Now remember these are all from cell phones until our camera get fixed, but you get the idea!

We love Football and we are very excited about it starting again! Justin teaches at Pine View so we have become big fans! These are shirts my dad made for the kids for soccer last season, but they work for football too! We had a lot of fun at the game last Friday and Brit loved loved loved it! He sat and watched almost the whole 1st half and kept saying "football" and pointing to the field everytime anything would happen. I couldn't get Brit to look at the camera because he was so focused on the game:) And PV won of course and we cant wait for the next game!

P.S. I splurged and bought ESPN GAME PLAN for Justin this year, so every Saturday is a party at the Phillips house. Our only requirement is that you bring food! We provide the football, you provide the food! Thats fair right?!

BRITON TURNED TWO!!!

On AUGUST 9th, my little boy turned 2!

If it weren't for all the recent tantrums I wouldn't believe it!

We had a fun little get together with our family after church and it turned out great! We did a little Luau in the back yard complete with teriyaki chicken and coconut rice, kalua pork, shrimp, and some pineapple. The food was delicious! Brits birthday cake was even a roasted pig! My friend Kaycie made it and it was so cute! So while the kids played in the pool and the sandbox the adults chatted and swayed to the luau music. It really was a fun party and although I would love to take credit, I think Justin did 99% of it. I just ran around thinking of things that needed to be done while he did it. I have an amazin hubby! Thanks Just!

Brit had a great day and made a haul! I didnt get a picture of all his presents, but 2 words sum it up... Dora and Cars! His 2 favorite things! He also got some dump trucks for the sand box and some clothes and pjs!

This is my FAVORITE picture of the day. As soon as he hopped into the car, the girls came right on over! It's almost like he's 16 already!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIT!

We love you!

A little bit about Brit!

So sinse he just turned 2 I wanted to write a few things about him so I can remember how STINKIN cute he is!
He talks a lot now and we have a lot of fun talking to each other in the car. But there are a few things he says right now that just crack us up!
*D-d-d-d-Dora
*Whats that?
*Whos that?
*Lightning McQuenn
*Watch it
*Movie
*I walk
*I try
* I want_____
*Swiper!!!
He says thing in double sometimes. We cant figure out why.
*Dora Boots
*Momma Daddy
*JD Devin
*Daddy Truck
Hes a pretty active kid. He stays really busy all day. These are a few things he LOVES to do.
* He loves playing with the dogs. He thinks its so funny to pull on thier tails.
* He loves to play in the pool.
*He loves to squirt anyone and anything with the hose. The dogs are the usual target though.
*He still hasnt got a slow speed. It's fast or faster.
*He always wants to "walk" when we go anywhere and refuses to let us hold him or sit in a cart. So we rarely go to the store and when we do I SWEAR to myself we will never do it again.
*He thinks everything and everyone is a trampoline and jumps on it, even if it's your face and your sleeping soundly on the couch. (We just got him a little tramp with a bar so he can jump all day long.)
*He kinda likes TV. haha ok he LOVES TV!!! But he starts a movie and then heads outside or grabs some books to read. So he only watches it every once in a while.
* I hardly have any pictures of him lately and not just because my camera keeps breaking. He wants to take pictures himself and as soon as I pull it out he stops doing whatever cute thing he was doing and runs to the camera with his hands in the air.
*He loves reading books and we have to read 2 or 3 or 5 before we go to bed. But you wont find me complaining about that one!
* He can tell you a few shapes and colors.
*And if you ask him how old he is, he proudly says 2!

4 months on July 27th

So Hadley is now almost 5 months but I better update you on how she was at 4 months so I can remember also. So just pretend it's July 27th. She is 13 lbs 2 oz and 24.5 inches long. She is in the 5oth percentile in weight and tall for her age, but I cant remember the percentile. She is so close to rolling over. She loves to stand on your lap. She LOVES to smile and does it whenever anyone looks at her. She loves her older brother and he can make her laugh like no one else. She still sleeps a lot during the day and pretty much all night. She goes to sleep around 8pm and wakes up anywhere from 5-7am and then goes back to sleep. She is such a good baby and if all babies where like her, I'm pretty sure everyone would have 10! She never cries and is just content to lay around and look at things. Her best friends are the 3 butterflies above her swing and she loves to talk to them! She tried rice cereal and all she does is pull funny faces and then spit it out. She's got these big dark blue eyes you could just stare at for days! What a girl! We love ya sister!

JULY UPDATE

So things have just been crazy busy here at the Phillips house and I've been meaning to blog but with a broken computer and a borken camera, it just didnt happen! So I'll try and get a few updates here in the next few days. Now most of these are from disposable cameras or my cell phone so the pictures are crappy, but at least I have some:)
JUST HANGIN OUT
Playing with Daddy on the bedI love bath time!

Brit and Hadleys 1st bath together. Brit did really good and was careful to not get the water in her eyes.

CAMPIN ON COVE

We went up to Cove Mountain one weekend in July and had a great time. We did some fishing, rode the 4 wheelers, looked at elk, played games, and just relaxed!
