Valentines Weekend!

Justin and I were so lucky this weekend to have great parents who love us, well... mostly love spending time with our little boy. Justin's parents came down to stay with Brit while we took off to one of our favorite places for a night away from home. We went to Zion Friday evening for a movie and dinner. Dinner ended up being Dairy Queen in Hurricane, because we got away late, but we went to Inkheart at Zion's theatre and really enjoyed it. Justin has read the book and of course I haven't, so I liked it a lot more than he did because apparently it's way different from the book. After the movie we checked into our hotel and just relaxed. The next morning we went to breakfast and drove around the park. It was freezing and had snowed during the night so we went on one small hike and saw a couple waterfalls and cool snow woman. It was just so beautiful with the snow! We couldn't resist snapping some pics. Unfortunately I had to work at Olive Garden that night and so we had to head back home. Even though it was short and sweet, we loved the get away and only wish we could do it more often! Especially because what we came home to. We decided to finally paint our nursery and figured since Justin's dad was down we should put him to work. We also decided that since he was helping us with the nursery we should paint our master bathroom too! AND THEN last minute we decided to paint the other bathroom too! So we painted all weekend long. But we got a lot done and when we get all the finishing touches I will post some pics. Oh and did I mention Valentines at Olive Garden was CRAZY!!! I got there at 4:00 and there was already an hour wait. The wait went to 2 hours pretty soon after that and then finally at 10:15 we were off the wait. Now that's not a bad thing usually, but when your 33 weeks pregnant, those trays get heavy after a few hours of running and running! Needless to say I got home and crashed, along with Justin and Randy who had painted all day long! Fun Valentines day huh?!? No it was a good weekend and we loved having Justin's parents at our home.

I'm so Disappointed!

So we just got done watching American Idol and I'm so upset! I know... I'm a freak, but come on!!! Justin's already vowed to never watch it again, but I'm hoping this season won't totally SUCK!!! Here are my 4 reasons I am so mad. The order is hard but here I go.
1. Jamar DIDN"T make it through. You know the guy who's best friend's wife died. The one with a cheek piercing. The "Hey Delilah" guy! He was one of my favorites! And my reasons 2-4 did!!!
2. Tatiana!!!! Do I really need to say more! What a joke!
3. Head band guy!!! Again, What a joke!
4. Norman Gentle didn't really make it through... did he?
So is the show really about them being able to sing, or is it just about the DRAMA and what's going to make a "good" show? Like I said, I will continue to watch it, but we'll see how long! I gotta have faith.
For those of you who don't watch Idol, just forget I ever wrote this, I'm already embarrassed about it:)

Briton is 18 Months!

What??? My baby is 18 months! Well at least he gets to go to Nursery now:)

There's not much more I can say about our little toddler (ahhh) except that he is more full of it than ever. Impossible you might say... Nope. He's crazy! He is constantly going a million miles and hours, talking our ears off, climbing on things, banging on the windows at the dogs, and much much more! But even though he keeps us always on our toes chasing him and playing bball with him, he now loves to cuddle. It doesn't last long, but Justin and I both get our fair share of cuddling and of course kisses. He is starting to say I love you and it makes me melt when he does. His favorite word is basketball and he loves shooting hoops. If either of us are doing something in the living room or kitchen and he wants to play, he'll come running in with his ball in hand and point at his room til we follow him back to shoot some hoops! Another one of his favorite words is NO. He's just now saying it, which I'm grateful it took this long, but he sure loves to say it. No matter what the question is we ask him the answer is always NO! It's still kinda funny to me, but I'm sure it will get old soon.

So here are a few pictures of some things he loves right now.

His new table and chairs are a big hit! He sits at it and colors, plays platdoo, and pushes buttons on his little computer. He also likes to stand on it and we're working on not doing that:)

He loves the park. We go down to our park almost everyday, but last week we shook things up and took him to a different park and he loved it as well.

A shot of my big belly

Brit loves slides the most and goes down every way he can. On his bumb, back, belly, and for the first time he decided to dive head first down a slide. I thought he would freak out, but I think I was more scared than he was. The first time he stayed on the slide when he hit the bottom, but the second time he tried it he face planted it into the wood chips. But he just got up and kept on going. What a kid!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Happy 28th Birthday!

We love ya more than words can say and just wanted to make sure you knew it! Hope your day is amazing!

Love Katy and Brit!

Weekend in SLC!!

We went to a Jazz game last weekend and had a great time. It was my first Jazz game ever and of course Brit's too. Now we're not huge Jazz fans, we kinda follow them and root for them, but we really went up to see LeBron James play (and my little bro at half time of course)! How can you miss a chance to see him play. He is amazing! So this post may be a little offensive to most Die Hard Jazz fans cause there aren't many Jazz pictures and a lot of LeBron pictures. Justin had the camera out almost the whole game trying to get the perfect picture. Much to his disappointment he missed the chalk throw and a few huge dunks, but we got a few good ones. It is hard to get good pictures when the little kid in front of you stands up every 2 seconds and yells at the ref and when your in the nose bleed section:) I was pretty proud of our little camera considering the distance.

We were so worried about Briton making it through the whole game, but he did awesome. He was so worn out by the time the game started that he zonked right out onto my belly. It makes a great pillow I guess! He slept from right after tip off til right before half time. He enjoyed half time with us and then headed to where Grandma and Grandpa and JD were for the rest of the game. And he sat on their laps the whole time. (What I wouldn't give for a sacrament meeting like that. He doesn't make it 10 minutes without running the isles.) JD received an award at half time and that was the main reason for our trip up. He was chosen as a top 10 finalist in the state for the State Heisman Award. So we were glad we could make it up and see him at half time!
Sleeping on my belly
JD at Half Time. He's the one in the red sweater

After the game my parents took Briton back to Richfield and Justin and I stayed at the Peery Hotel just down the street. It is such a cool hotel and it's way old. The rooms were so cute and the soaps and lotions were Coconut lime from Bath and Body! That might not be a big deal to some people, but I'm used to the nasty stuff from like Days Inn or none at all:) The service was amazing there and I would definitely stay there again! We had a great night just hanging out the 2 of us.

The next day we made the long trek home in the snow! It was the worst ever. We were in it from SLC to Richfield, Richfield to Cedar, and then after a quick stop at Justin's parents we were in it again til we got home. After Cedar was the best weather though, thank goodness, we needed a break! On our way over Cove Fort we hit a bad spot and were spinning and sliding out of control barely missing 5 or 6 poles on the side of the road. I was just bracing for a role over, but Justin handled it perfectly and we just ended up on the side of the road white knuckled and miraculously heading in the right direction. It was the scariest thing ever! We were so glad when we finally got home and hopped out of the car to warm(er) weather.
We forgot his blanket he has to have when he sleeps and so my mom made him this one that is the same material. She's making one for Hadley right now and this is just some left over scraps, but he loves it!
