WHY?!?!? Part 2

So we received our parts to the crib today. YAY!! Oh wait... The parts they sent were like yellow when the rest of the crib is WHITE!!! We decided to still put it together because the part that is the most yellow can be taken off easily and replaced when they send us yet another one. But then we found out we were missing ANOTHER PART!!! One that we need to finish the crib. Really, our baby is coming in less than 2 days. I'm so sad! I still can't beleive it!
Moral of the story... You get what you pay for!

Spring Break

I can't believe it's over already, I feel like it just started and I hoped that by now we would have a baby! But... we don't! So here are all the things we did over Spring Break. We built a new play set for Brit, and Justin and his dad got it done in just 2 days! It is amazing and Brit loves to climb up and down the ladder. He also likes to drive the steering wheel that it has. He must be going through a "not like slides" stage cause he's only done it a couple time and we have to be right by him when he does. He's a funny boy, one day he dives head first down a 2o ft slide and loves ever second of it and the next he won't go down an 8 ft slide unless we push him. But we still have the sandbox to do which will get done who knows when! But when we do I will put some pic's cause it's awesome!
Work in Progress!
Brit did a lot of running around, playing in the mudd and dirt, and also some swimming. We got last years pool out and played in it for a while until all the sudden the air was gone. I guess it had a few holes:) So the next day we bought a new pool which did the same thing. So we kept blowing that one up so we could swim and it will soon be returned for yet another pool. I tried to get some pictures of him the first day and you will see why picture taking is so hard with Brit right now. He throws a fit and just reaches for the camra. The next day he was distracted enough by the pool that I actually got some good pictures of him. YAY!

Justin had to go up North on Friday and Saturday for soccer games and I very reluctantly let him go. He drove the car up just in case. So pretty much that was a waste of gas since we have no baby yet. While he was up there Brit and I relaxed, got a visit from Randy and LeAnn, and tried to get the house picked up. We missed him and were so glad to see him Saturday night.

Reading with Grandpa Phillips
And Yesterday, Justin's whole family came down to visit. We had a house full, but it was nice to have everyone here. We ate, watched basketball, and played some Wii. Unfortunately the weather turned from 84 degrees and beautiful to 60s, windy, and COLD so there wasn't much we could do outside. But we played with Justin's new laptop he got for starting his Masters and the camra and photoshop program was a hit. You can take a picture of yourself and make it look all crazy! The kids loved it as you will be able to see in the pictures below. They swarmed around him and he kept them entertained for a long time. Brit loves it and absolutely loves seeing himself in the computer.

Such a Boy!

If it has wheels on it, he's either pushing it or sitting on it. He has always been a fan of cars and trucks, but he is starting to really love pushing them around everywhere. He will go up and down the hall on his knees just pushing his truck or motorcyle or car around making sounds and jabbering about who knows what. He'll drive them up your legs, arms, back, and tummy too! It is so funny! He also rides on his little tonka truck and anything he can find in the neighbors yard that he thinks he can ride on (they have a lot of toys). We've been able to go outside a lot lately and he loves taking his trucks out there. I can't wait for our sandbox because I know he is just going to LOVE IT!!!!

My little helper

Emptying and loading the dishwasher used to be something Brit and I would fight about for the longest time. He would never grab the plastic dishes, but always the glass ones, and never a spoon, but the sharp knives. So I have finally figured out a way to let him help and distract him long enough for me to get the rest done. After I unload the sharp knives, I let him go to town on the silverware. He loves it and it makes him so happy. After about every peice he exclaimes "I did it" and smiles while gettting the next one. I figure it's a good chore for him and I can finally unload the dishwasher while he's awake without any tantrums:) YAY!

This is what it looks like when he's done.

WHY?!?!?

We finally ordered our crib and it arrived today. We were so excited to put it together! Well at least to have it put together. So we get everything organized and begin. We couldn't even finish step one because they sent us 2 Right Back Legs and not a left one! Then upon further inspection we found we were missing another part too! Honestly!!! How hard is it to put the right peices in the box? So annoying!

I DID IT!!

There have been so many things I have wanted to Blog about the last few weeks, but I just haven't gotten around to it. So many other things to be doing, like cleaning, organizing, playing, and every once in a while sleeping! But here are a few things that have been going on.

1. Briton is HILARIOUS!! He is on this kick where after eveything he does, he says "I did it!" He is even saying it in his sleep which is even cuter! I'll get a video soon! He has been sick for over 2 weeks now with all different sorts of things and hopefully one day he will get better. We're just glad the throwing up/diareah(sp?) is over! That was sure fun! But now his ears are leaking non stop and he's not sleeping at night! Fun too! ANYWAYS... the point I was tryin to make is that even though he has been super sick, he is still so happy and loves making us laugh. He also wants to play basketball all day long and is getting pretty good at shooting it and not just letting it fall into the hoop. He's got a pretty nice jump shot for a 19 month old! He also loves to color and will sit at the bar forever and just scribble all over. (did i mention he talks all day long)

He did draw on the tiles the other day, but it came right out, so i'm just waiting for the whole coloring on the walls phase. Lets see. He also can say his name and when he looks in the mirror and you ask him who it is he says "Briton." And he absolutely loves to look at himself in the mirror. He's getting really good at animal sounds and loves to roar like a lion. We went to a chinese restraunt the other day and they had these lion statues and he just sat there and roared at them. He's starting to... how do i put this, become aware of his bodily functions and when ever he toots, he grabs himself and looks at us and smiles. He is also starting to bring us diapers when he needs to be changed. Does this mean potty training soon? That scares me! Both Grandma's and Grandpas have paid us a few visits the last few weeks and he has loved it!
Here's a cute video of him with grandpa.

2. Justin has started soccer and we miss him coming home right after school. They have their first game on Friday and we're super excited to go watch! My dad made these cute shirts for us and we can't wait to wear them! Go DADDY!!
3. I'm still pregnant:) and last week I hit that I'm miserable stage and just want the baby out! I'm at a 3 already and just hoping that she will come over spring break so that Justin can be home with us for almost 2 weeks. Spring break starts on Friday, so cross your fingers for us. Knowing our luck she'll come the day after Spring Break ends and we'll have sat at home all break just twiddling our thumbs! That's what happened with Briton so we'll just plan on that. (He decided to come the 2nd day the teachers had to be back for school.) But really we're still not ready for her. The crib was finally ordered last night, her room is still a disaster, and really are you ever fully ready for a new baby to come into your lives! So i'll keep you posted, if she's not here by the 27th my doc is gonna start me, I think I can make it til then.
4. We have decided to take on all these projects around the house and hope to get them done over spring break. We're putting more grass in our backyard, adding a sandbox, digging up our nasty pond and putting in a much nicer and easier to maintain fountain, and we're gonna attempt to put a new playset together without killing each other. Anybody free next week, we'd sure love your help. Maybe if there was someone else helping us there won't be any casualties:) So yeah, we're crazy, but won't all that be so nice to have done when the baby comes!

5. We also got to go see JD play at State in Cedar a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately they didn't do great (unlike the girls who took state! Go ladycats!), but it was fun to watch him play and spend time with family.

So i'm slacking on my picture taking and will hopefully get better over the next few weeks and I will have some pictures of whats happening in our lives.
