Where a kid can be a kid!

A few weekends ago we went down to Las Vegas for the day to celebrate our niece Sophies 1st birthday. The birthday party was at Chuck-e-Cheese's where the kids (and the dads) had so much fun playing all the games. Briton just wondered around looking at all the things and butting in front of all the other kids. We had to keep an eye on him cause he would just walk up to a game and get in the way of total strangers playing their games. It was pretty funny for us but I'm sure not as funny for the kids trying to win tickets. We lot of fun visiting with family, watching the kids play, and eating pizza.

Going down the slideI LOVE Pizza!Skee Ball is much easier when your 2 feet away:)
We also went to Bass Pro afterwards to visit Santa again. And once again he wanted nothing to do with him. So we walked around, checking out all the wildlife and fish. We thought he would like it more, but he must still be too young cause he could have cared less about the moose, bears, fish, and deer all over the place. Maybe next time:)

He did kinda like the big saltwater tank in the casino, but it didn't last long.

There is a new restraunt that just opened down here called Pirate Island Pizza. My manager from Wingers actually opened it up and we finally got to go yesterday for lunch. I was expecting something really cheesy and plain with a few games to play. When I walked in I had to take a step back! It was so cool and HUGE! The whole place is like a pirate cave with waterfalls and pirates everywhere. The arcade had some really cute games and a little playplace for the kids. I was really impressed. And it's not just pizza, there are tons of things that sounded so good. It's a great place for families and adults. Anyways, the reason I'm putting this on here is so if you are ever in town, look it up, it is so neat and we really want it to make it! Not only cause it's cool and we want Briton's birthday Party there next year:) but because it's a friends and owning a restraunt is tough right now! So go try it out!

Santas coming! I KNOW HIM!!!!

Santa came to visit my preschool today. The kids absolutely loved it and the look in their eyes was so sweet! They were so excited! A couple kids couldn't stay sitting down and just kept getting up and giving him hugs. It was so cute. Well Briton hadn't gone down for his nap and I decided to try and get his first picture with Santa. I figured he wouldn't just sit in his lap and I'd have to be close, but this was a little more than I expected!
He wanted NOTHING to do with the big guy in the red suit. I was so sad! We'll have to try again and maybe show him some more pictures of Santa so he won't freak out again:)

What does it take??

So what exactly does it take to get a snow day in Washington County? Not much apparently! We were informed last night that school would be cancelled today and in our front yard this is what we saw.
I just couldn't believe it, well I take that back, I was a little suprised! If you have ever driven in St. George on a rainy day, you have to put up with some very scared drivers. People who have lived here their whole lives just haven't driven in it much and they show it in every way. Its so annoying and scary cause you never know what they're gonna do! So I can't imagine what it would be like with 2-4 inches of SNOW on the roads when everyone is trying to get to school and work on time! So just got the day off.
I was still planning on having school and just hopped that everyone would come. We had our Christmas Party planned and Santa was coming and there was just no way I could cancel! So Justin got up and scrapped the walks with our dusty snow shovel that was hiding way back in the back of the shed! The snow was so wet and heavy and it took him all morning. We have a really big driveway! Thanks babe! So it ended up being a great day. We got to spend almost the whole day together which is always fun!

Weekend in Richfield

Last weekend we went to Richfield for the HUGE Michaelsen Christmas Party! It is getting so big, I just can't believe it. I know Grandma and Grandpa are just smiling down from Heaven, especially Grandma, this is her favorite time of the year! We were all packed into my parents house and had a great time eating, opening presents, playing games, and just talking.
That night we were planning on heading home, but the snow storm hit fast and hard and we decided it just wasn't worth it, so we stayed another day. We were able to go play in the snow with Brit the next day while we were there. He wasn't so sure about it at first, but then he started to enjoy it a little more. He wanted to walk all around the nieghborhood and climbed up neighbors stairs and ruined their footprint free yards, but oh well, he was having fun! We didn't really have him dressed in the proper snow wear (because we don't own the heavy coat and gloves) so we headed back inside. But I think he enjoyed his first little taste of snow.

Hide and Seek

So lately we have been missing a lot of things around the house. Things like remotes, hair brushes, toothpaste, lids, etc. Some of them we'll find in the our clothes hamper, the washer, the dryer, odd drawers and cupboards, in Britons crib, and worst of all the Garbage can. And some things we have yet to find! I'll give you one guess at who might be responsible for all this petty theif. Yep... Briton. He loves taking things from where they belong and hiding them, so when mom and dad need them, they are no where to be found! It was cute at first, but it is now so frustrating when all you want to do is brush your hair when you get out of the shower, but ALL the brushes in the house are missing!! Or you can't watch tv in the bedroom because it's stuck on Spike TV! But like I said, most of the time we find them after a while, but I am still missing a few hairbrushes:)

one...two...three!!!

This weekend Briton started counting. Whenever he does anything he goes one.. two.. three. We count with him all the time but something about this weekend made it really stick! Him and my parents kept pushing things into each other and they would count to three before pushing and he loved it! Now he won't stop. We hear him in his crib before he falls asleep going one.. two.. three. He walks around the house saying it. Before he kicks or throws the ball he says it. It is so funny! I've tried getting it on video, but you can't really hear him so as soon as I get a good one, i'll put it up!

16 months

Briton is 16 months old and I thought I would just write a few things about him right now...

1. He hates having socks on. He almost always pulls them off, especially when we're driving.
2. He likes to make eye contact with other kids and he gets right up in their face. If they are smaller than him, he bends down so he can look right at them.
3. He likes the movie Spirit now too and runs in circles when the horses run.

4. He climbs on EVERYTHING!

5. He likes closing doors and is always locking himself in the laundry room and bathrooms.

6. He is starting to say "Whooh" all the times.

7. He likes the park and can go down the slide all by himself now. He also likes to play in the wood chips.

8. He likes McDonalds play place and sits at the end of the slide until other kids come down. He was doing flips on the side of the slide yesterday and it was hilarious.

9. He likes visiting dad at work and sitting in the big desks!

10. He just started saying "baby" and points at babies all the time.

Update

Well things have been great around our house! I feel like we're going a million miles an hour, but when I think back I feel like I haven't done much. Me and Brit are loving having Justin home right after school and not having practice. Brit gets so excited to see him everyday he walks in the door. I'm just as busy as ever, but like I said, I feel like I get nothing done. I'm feeling really good as far as the whole being pregnant goes. I'm starting to not sleep good at night, but other than that I feel great. She is moving all the time. I feel her even when I'm up walking around, where I only felt Brit when I was sitting or laying down. I had an appointment earlier this week and the doc informed me that my placenta is low. I get to go have another ultrasound in January to see if it's moved up at all. So we'll just have to see. Briton is just as crazy as ever. He's almost 16 months and I still can't believe it. He loves to run around and so thats all he does. (Unless cars is on, then he stares at the tv for an hour or so, dancing and laughing.) Our friend told us the other day that he has never seen him stand still. He really is constantly doing something. He still loves books, dancing, jumping, his blankie, and being with mom and dad. I've been trying to hold babies around him to see how he does and he seems to be getting better with it. He is starting to throw little tantrums when we dont give him what he wants and it is SO MUCH FUN!!!! Luckily they only last a few seconds and not minutes like it will be in the future. We just let him lay on the ground and cry, then he gets up and is just fine. It just attracts a lot of attention so I hate when he does it in public! He did it at the library the other day, that was just dandy. So our fam is doing great and can't wait for Christmas. Justin and I go in the room where the Christmas presents are stored and play with Brits presents cause we're so excited. Oh and Thanksgiving was great. We spent it in Cedar with Justin's family. We were only up there one day so it was kinda crazy, but it's always so good to spend time with everyone. We got some family pictures and some really cute ones of all the grandkids. Oh and I went and saw Twilight with all the girls. I haven't even opened one of the books or even considered it because I'm just not a reader. BUT, after the movie I have found myself considering it. I really liked it and when a movie ends the way it did, you can't help go crazy thinking about what happens next. So maybe over Christmas break I'll have some time to start book 1. Wish me luck! I havent finished a book since I was pregnant with Brit.
Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

He's still learning how to eat with a spoon. Soup+Briton=1 big mess

This is his Christmas outfit, but we broke it out for some Pic's. How handsome! I just love the jacket!

Don't mind my red eye. Briton poked me in the eye right before we took pictures:)
