Briton Turns 3!

On August 9th, 2010 Briton turned THREE!!!

We had a little shin dig with the family and he got lots of fun things! Almost everyone from the family was there and it was a great night for Brit!

I'm still pretty sure this $5 singing birthday card was his favorite gift of all. It played "Life is a Highway" and for some reason that song is "HIS SONG!" He carried it around with him for days!

We also decided to throw Brit a birthday party and invite some friends. the only problem was I had no clue where to draw the line. I wanted to invite some good friends, the kids from nursery that were his age, then the kids from babysitting, and then a few other friends from the neighborhood. Well.... that turned into 15+ kids. So we decided to just set up some swimming pools, games, slippin slides, and just fun stuff for them to run around and have fun! And that they all did! It was CRAZY!!! I might have got a few grey hairs from the experience but Brit loved it and still talks about his birthday almost daily!

This was his cake we made for him cause he kinda likes CARS! It was a very simple cake, but he loved it!

Blowing out the candles. The little boy next to him is only a few days older and had just had a party for him. He had a hard time figuring out that this wasn't all for him, but Brit didn't seem to mind a little help:)Taking a shot at his Lightning McQueen!Playin with all the goods! All tuckered out from the big day! Happy Birthday Big Boy! We love you!

OCTOBER 2010

October! One of my favorite months! I love how the weather cools down, the leaves change, you can start wearing pants comfortably.... okay well not here but everywhere else in the state! We got down to a chilly 79 degrees one day I think:) So I guess the thing I like the most about October is Halloween! I love the decorations and all the scary movies on TV! And you can't forget the pumpkin carving! We even kept our Phillips/Tate tradition alive! And this year Briton almost got the concept of Halloween and how awesome it is. He is just so funny about wearing certain things that costumes are just a nightmare with him! So batman PJ's minus the cape we tried to put on him worked just fine! But Hadley on the other hand let us just go to town on her cute Cowgirl get-up. And luckily her boots are her favorite shoes in her closet so she was in heaven! We also got the chance to go to R-town and spend a weekend with my fam picking lots of pumpkins! The kids loved the hayride and picking pumpkins for hours! And what kid doesnt like a train ride at the end! What a cute setup they have every year and the best part is it's free and the pumpkins are cheap!
The finished results of our long night of carving!

Cheesen it for the camera

Caught in the act of stealing a cupcake. Busted!

Decorating the cupcakes. More like eating the frosting and then making a huge mess with the cupcakes. But it was soooo fun! Thanks again Tates for coming over!

We had Hadley alone one Sunday while Brit was away with cousins and she loved all the attention!

Halloween 2010
This is the best picture I got with both of them... sad :(

They both loved trick or treating and Brit askes almost everyday when we can go again!

Hadley got pulled around in the wagon all night snacking on all her suckers and the bag of chips she got. She was in cowgirl heaven!

And Batman here road his batmobile everwhere! We just could not get him to walk!

CALI Part 2

CALIFORNIA Trip Part 2
Isn't she so stinking sweet!
One afternoon our little family headed down to the beach. It was cold but very nice. We mostly played in the sand and splashed in the water a bit but I loved every minute of it! We even found a little crab running around on the beach!
We had to make one more apperance at Seaworld since it was so fun, but Justin was sick so we unfortunately went without him. I tried to send him some pictures and videos but it was hard with 2 kids running around after I snapped the shot! We got to see Shamu one for time and then visited his tank for ever after the show. Brit was in heaven! Another great day!

I honestly can't thank my parents enough for giving us this opportunity to go on a trip all together! We sure missed JD but in a few years we will take another on like this with him and probably his wife or gf. So thanks again mom and dad! You two are the greatest! We had so much fun and I know the kids will remember it forever! They loved spending time with you guys and of course thier cute cousins! Love ya!

CALI Part 1

California July 2010

We took an amazing trip with my family this summer! We spent the last week of July playing at Seaworld, Disneyland, the Beach, and everywhere imbetween! My parents rented a house a few blocks away from the beach and it was really so much fun! The first day there went to Seaworld and Brit and Hadley were in Heaven! Brit just could not get enough of Shamu and he is his absolute favorite thing to talk about now. Funny note.... He even told us the other day his poop splashed in the toilet like Shamu!!!) What a kid! He was mesmerized the entire Shamu show and wanted to go back the second we left. He also liked the Baluga whales and polar bears too. Oh and the penquins, otters, dolphins, turtles, fish... really the list goes on and on. He just loves Seaworld. And Hadley was so content just watching all the animals all day, napping in strange possitions, and eating starburst. They both loved the Seaseme Street area and Grandma and Grandpa got stuck there a little to much while us older kids rode some fun rides.

We were lucky enough to ditch the kiddos and go to Disneyland one of the days with Shilo, Brandon, Devin, and Megan. We had a blast! Now some of you might ask, why Disneyland with out kids? WHY!!! Because it's awesome. Now Brandon and Shilo and Devin and Megan do not share the same passion for Disneyland as we do, but I think they still had a good time and we were sure glad they were there with us cause it was a once in a lifetime trip! When are we ever going to do that agian?!? yeah never! Im not sure my parents would agree to it again, not cause they didn't love spending time with the grandkids, but because 4 kids all 2 years of age and under is not an easy task. Especially when you are go getters like my parents! They decided to load em all up in the truck and head to the beach! Not something I would do but im glad they did cause I got some pretty cute picture from it!

The 2 munchkids snacking at the cool house we rented!

We took a drive one day to this awesome area called . There were tide pools, seals everywhere, green grass to play tag and baseball, and some big waves! Brit did almost get sucked into the ocean a time or two; Once when a big wave came crashing into the rocks he was standing on and once on the beach where it completely pumeled him. The rocks was the most scary to think back on. But if you block that part out, it was one of my favorite days:)

I lOVE THIS PICTURE!

We also got to go to a Red Socks vs Angels game and had a awesome time! We saw a lot of homeruns the kids did great! We were so worried about the kids getting restless, but they were as good as can be! And yes, that is Brit wearing a hat. Miracles do happen!

Part 2 coming soon!

LAKE POWELL

We were so fortunate to get a quick trip in to Lake Powell with the Phillips side! We all hadn't been to Powell together for 3 years and I was getting antsy to get there. We finally got it put together and it was one fun trip. The weather was great, the tenting with 2 kids and a bizzilion spiders bareable, the water amazing, and the company couldn't get better! And Brit loved the water! I was so glad! He lived in the water and did really good with his lifejacket! After looking at these pictures I realized how much Sophie and Brit drank the water and wonder how they survived without getting sick! yuck! Hadley did great too! But she only wanted to swim in the water if grandpa had her! She sure loves her grandpa!

I can't wait til next year!

How do you know your baby is growing up?

For the second time in a week (10-22) Hadley has taken her diaper off, walked me into the bathroom, sat down on the little toilet and pee'd! She then stands up, gets some toilet paper, usually one square, and wipes her butt. And then she climbs on the stool and wants help washing her hands. This is all from no instructions, just watching and taking it all in. Am I ready for the challenge of trying to potty train her while she is interested? I'm not sure. Maybe next week:)

A funny to go along with that. She also tries to stand and the toilet and pee like Brit. It's quite cute!

And last night she was whining to Justin right after I left for work so he got her a sippy. This is around 6:00. Next she wanted a blanket so he got her one (or five, one is usually not enough). Then she pointed to her bedroom so he walked her back there and she wanted to get into bed. So of course he put her in and shut the door thinking she would drink her sippy and then cry to get out. NOPE! She fell asleep and slept til 7:15 this morning. Clothes from yesterday, and a diaper from who knows when yesterday! What a girl!
Sorry for interrupting my "catch up" Im still working on. I just had to write this down so I wont forget!
